Leeks Soap and Nottingham - Part 4 of 5 Saturday, December 4, 2010

The awesome force that was the Salad Pig, circa 1989. Shot in a day, using a video camera the size of a small elephant on hire from Radio Rentals, this was the first and penultimate venture into the world of cinematography for our heroes. Unscripted and undaunted, using only a box of props hastily assembled from whatever they could steal from their parents fridges, wardobes, garages etc, they laid down the foundations for what was to become almost a few massive months of relative obscurity. Sadly, the whereabouts of arguably the "Pig"'s greatest work; "Man with Book (Give it Back, Give it Back), is today unknown and feared lost for ever. However, rumour has it that acclaimed TV producer and all round nice bloke Russell T Davies may in fact still have a copy, probably in a downstairs lavvy in one of his many residences somewhere. Russell, if you're watching, give it back! :P If you happen across these video clips, the likelihood is that watching them will induce bewilderment, despair, and a realisation of exactly where Great Britain took a turn for the worse. However, to those that were there, may these clips bring you as much joy in the watching as i had being part of them, and look back to a time when life was uncomplicated, everything was a laugh, and NOTHING was a step too far. Dave, Brad, Wiff, Raynor and Wilge (aka Andy Stardust) - Comedy salutes you!
