How Do I Attract Visitors to My Website? Wednesday, September 29, 2010

Here are a few ideas:

Tell everybody you know about your site and tell them to tell their friends.

Make sure your website address is on all of your adverts, leaflets etc.

Give people a reason to go to your site, special offers etc.

Get the email address of everyone you do business with and send them an email at least once a month and include a link or reason for them to visit your site.

Optimise your site for the search engines, (getting your site on Google for free) I personally spoke to a room full of business owners today and hardly any of them use the Yellow Pages, they all use Google when they are looking for stuff so getting your site on the first page of Google is a must these days.

Get going with Google Pay Per Click advertising, it is one of the best forms of paid advertising that exists but many small business owners are not using it. Google PPC ads show up at the very top or on the right hand side of the page when someone searches for your keywords. So if you were bidding for the search term 'Chauffeurs in Nottingham' your ad will show up when someone searches for your search term.

The beauty of Google PPC is that you can target a very specific area, there is very little wastage, you only pay when someone clicks your ad and goes through to your website, and you can get your ads online within minutes. You can also change your ad quickly, test different ads, include a daily budget, pause your ads and restart them very easily.

If we could advertise in Magazines and Newspapers and only pay a small fee every time a potential customer calls us we would all be doing it. Testing Google PPC is a must.

I recently helped one of my clients set up his PPC campaign and he had many enquiries and confirmed jobs within the first week.
